Church Alive launch team - "the first fifteen"
The History of Church Alive
Church Alive began as a
dream!
Pastor Glenn Lee responded to a special prompting from God in 1992,
while attending Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida, to church
plant.
In the fall of 1999, Glenn and Laura felt a nudge from God that it was
time to seek out the place where they would plant a worship driven,
life-improving church. After visiting three different cities, they
sensed that God was granting them the opportunity to plant a new church
in the Raleigh/Durham metro area.
Between the fall of 1999 and the fall of 2000, Glenn and Laura began to
recruit a team of leaders that would be willing to move to Raleigh to
help plant Church Alive. Once the recruiting was complete,
eleven
people had sensed God's direction for their lives was to relocate to
Raleigh to help plant Church Alive. Between August and October 2000,
the team members relocated to Raleigh to be a part of this dream.
Church Alive has witnessed explosive growth during it's first three and half years. Growing from its
original 11 to over
400, there is much excitement and expectation to see where God is going to take Church Alive in the days ahead!
On September 9, 2001, Church Alive had its official Grand Opening with
260 in attendance!!
